The aim of this Association according to the promoters was to help in the development of the odour industry both technically and commercially to both share and to learn best practices in the profession by providing support for the professional development of its members.
In addition this initiative had some other objectives, such as advocate regulations, create better public awareness, joint ventures and partnerships between members in acquiring large projects, organizing Conferences and exhibits, Inter laboratories testing (olfactometry) and formal Panellist Training.
