Registration is now open for a new edition of the ISOCS Short Course Winter 2027, taking place in Bormio, Italy, from January 17 to 22. Organized by the International Society for Olfaction and Chemical Sensing (ISOCS), the residential course will bring together researchers, industry professionals and others interested in chemical sensing and biosensors.
Held at Hotel Vallechiara, the course will cover gas-sensing principles, higher-order sensing and IOMS (Instrumental Odour Monitoring Systems), nanomaterials, biosensors, machine learning and AI, signal processing, calibration and real-world applications.
Through lectures, discussions, practical demonstrations and hands-on sessions, participants will explore both the theory and practical challenges of chemical sensing, with insights from industry partners and opportunities to connect with experts and peers. Afternoons will be free for networking and outdoor activities, including skiing.
The registration fee includes accommodation and meals, and participants will receive free ISOCS membership for 2027. Places are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Register by December 1 to guarantee a room; later registrations may be accepted subject to availability.
