The 17th of December 2010, the new Directive 2010/75/UE of Industrial Emissions has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

eurlex doueThis new Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 November 2010 on industrial emissions (integrated pollution prevention and control) will enter into force on the 6th of January 2010. From this date on, the Member States will have 2 years to incorporate the necessary legal regulations to make effective this Directive.

The new legal text recast and modify six existent Directives:

  • Three Directives on the titanium dioxide industry
  • The Directive on the limitation of emissions of volatile organic compounds
  • The Directive on the incineration of waste,
  • The Directive on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from large combustion plants
  • The Directive concerning integrated pollution prevention and control.
