The 27th edition of the Ecomondo fair will be held from 5th to 8th November 2024 in Rimini, Italy. As part of the environmental exhibition, this event has become a key gathering for experts, researchers, industry leaders, and public administrators to discuss innovative strategies for managing odour emissions. For that, there is usually a session about odours. This year’s session, titled "Odour emissions: from abatement technologies to new control strategies," will present the latest advances in technology and methodologies for controlling odorous pollutants. The official language of this session is Italian.
The programme includes a wide range of presentations from leading public research bodies, as well as case studies and best practices shared by public administrations, environmental control agencies, and companies involved in odour management technologies. The workshop will open with an update on the work of national and international technical committees on odour regulations, setting the stage for in-depth discussions on regulatory developments and practical approaches to managing odorous emissions.
Among the topics to be covered are the application of new abatement technologies, chemical and biological methods for sustainable odour reduction, and the use of digital tools such as AI and IoT for monitoring and managing odour emissions. Researchers from renowned institutions like the University of Bari, the Politecnico di Milano, and the Italian National Institute of Health will contribute their insights on the latest findings and technological advancements in the field.
The event also features a poster session, showcasing innovative research and development efforts from across Europe. Ecomondo’s focus on odour emissions reflects the growing importance of this issue in environmental planning and management, providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience among those at the forefront of tackling this challenging environmental concern.
