The Clean Air & Environment Conference & Asia-Pacific Odour Conference has now published the final programme for its upcoming edition, which will take place from 31 August to 2 September 2026 in Cairns, Queensland, Australia, and will feature a specific track on odour management within the CASANZ conference framework.
This event is consolidating itself as an unmissable meeting point for air quality and odour professionals, with parallel sessions focused on air quality, fugitive emissions, dispersion modelling, sewer networks, H₂S, odour management and advanced monitoring techniques.
The final programme includes, on Sunday 30 August, several full-day and half-day workshops, among them “Odour Management in Practice”, which provides a hands-on overview of how odours are assessed, interpreted, regulated and managed in real-world cases. Other workshops address topics such as dust control, the impact of fire and smoke on communities, and the measurement of PFAS and emerging air contaminants, offering a broad view of current challenges in air quality.
During the conference days, several themed rooms (CleanAir 1, 2 and 3, and Odour 1 and 2) will host presentations by international experts. The odour track includes sessions on monitoring, measurement and analytics; sewer networks; H₂S and catchment management; dispersion modelling, impact assessment and planning, featuring contributions on continuous monitoring of odorants; estimation of odour and H₂S emissions; odour footprint using indicative sensors; and background odour assessment in biogas projects.
In addition, the programme features several high-level plenary lectures, including a talk by Dr Andrea Hinwood (UNEP) on global advances and challenges in 21st-century air quality, and a presentation by Dr Rosemary Barnes on the role of artificial intelligence in the atmosphere. A plenary panel session is also scheduled with representatives from the United Nations Environment Programme, who will discuss industry, economics and strategy in air quality.
