eurosensors 2013TRANSDUCERS + EUROSENSORS XXVII conference will be the largest multidisciplinary conference on Microsensors, Microactuators and Microsystems, to take place in 2013. The event will be hold in Barcelona, Spain.

The coming Transducers'13 conference is the 17th international conference on solid-state sensors, actuators and Microsystems of the TRANSDUCERS conference series started at 1981 in Boston (USA), and it is the first time for this conference to be held in Spain. The conference will feature four days of presentations and posters highlighting the latest and most technically advanced work in mechanical, optical, chemical, and biological devices and systems using micro- and nano-technology. Work of both a fundamental and applied nature will be featured.

nose2012NOSE2012, "the International Conference on Environmental Odour Monitoring & Control", will be held this time in Palermo, Italy in September 23-26, 2012. This event focuses on recent regulatory approaches for the evaluation of the exposure to odours, and on the developments for the optimization andstandardization of odour sampling and assessment methods, as well as odour control and abatement strategies. The conference should represent apossibility for the members of the increasing community of people involved in odour assessment and control to meet, exchange views, and achieve a better  understanding of the specific aspects relevant to odour problems.

NOSE2012 is organized by AIDIC, The Italian Association of Chemical Engineering and details on the conference and the call for paper may be found at http://www.aidic.it/nose2012

THE DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS OCTOBER 10, 2011http://www.aidic.it/nose2012/abstractsubmission.html

Selected papers will be presented during the conference and published into Chemical Engineering Transactions http://www.aidic.it/cet

The quality of this publication is valued by ISBN & ISSN numbers, reference by SCOPUS and THOMSON REUTERS (ISI Web of Knowledge, conference proceedings) citation indexes. In addition each paper will be available online thanks to the DOI identification.

The NOSE2012 Organizers would be very pleased to receive your personalscientific contribution and would appreciate your help in disseminating the NOSE2012 call for papers.

Odour conference Sydney December 2012   The inaugural conference on assessment and management of odours and air emissions will be held 4-6 December 2012, Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Odour and air emissions (including volatile organic compounds, sulfur and nitrogen containing compounds, and greenhouse gases) have the potential to impact the environment and health. The assessment and management of these emissions are a high priority for a wide range of sectors including wastewater treatment, sewerage, solid and trade waste management, agriculture and livestock, and manufacturing. While significant advances have been made in the assessment and management of these emissions, numerous technical and institutional challenges remain.

On behalf of the UNSW Water Research Centre, we would like to invite you to join us for the inaugural Australian Odour and Emissions (AusOE) Conference. We are proud to have the support of the Australian Water Association (AWA), the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand (CASANZ), and the Waste Management Association of Australia (WMAA) for this conference.

This event will provide a national platform for practitioners, managers, and researchers to benefit from cross-industry knowledge transfer through profiling the latest developments in this field, and discussing successful approaches for the assessment and management of odour and air emissions.

Abstracts are now being accepted. Abstract submission guidelines and template can be viewed on the AusOE website.

To be considered for a platform presentation, abstracts must be received by 20 April 2012.

The Conference sessions will cover the following topics:

Sampling and Assessment:

  • Odour sampling and analysis
  • Greenhouse gas sampling and analysis
  • Sampling and analysis of VOC, sulfur and nitrogen odorants and emissions
  • Sampling techniques for area and volume sources
  • Field assessment of odours

Modelling:

  • Applications of dispersion modelling
  • Dispersion modelling evaluation and quality assurance
  • Inverse dispersion modelling and source identification
  • Alternative emission transport models

Abatement and Management:

  • Odour and gaseous emission control techniques
  • Biological abatement processes
  • Evaluation of odour control products
  • Innovative abatement processes
  • Complaints management and analysis
  • Odour and emissions management as a tool in community relations and compliance
  • Odour regulation and policy
