WEF odor committee meeting   The Air Quality and odor Control Committee of the WEF met online last Tuesday, March 17, 2020 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Eastern. This meeting took place just after the unfortunate cancellation of the biannual Odors and Air Pollutants Conference 2020 of the Water Environmental Federation (WEF) that was going to take place in Cincinnati, Ohio from March 15 to March 18, 2020.

   This on-line meeting was attended by 34 of the 75 members of the Air Quality and Odor Control (AQOC) Committee that were expected to attend the WEF event that very same day. One of the items discussed was to make available at least some of the technical presentations.

vdi odour conference leipzig   The conference about Odours in the Environment organized by the German Association of Engineers (VDI)  will take place the 24th and 25th of November 2021 in the city of Wiesbaden. This biennial event has been moving along different cities such as Cologne (2004), Bad Kissingen (2007), Baden-Baden (2009, 2011 and 2013), Karlsruhe. (2015), Nuremberg (2017) and Düsseldorf (2019) and this time it will take place in Wiesbaden. This conference serves as a a forum for local discussions in German language.

   As stated before, please note that the official language of this Conference will be solely German, so if you know a bit of the language, this is one of the spots not to be missed next year.

podcast vaughan   Vaughan Harshman has replaced Carla Dillon as the new chair of the Air Quality and Odor Control (AQOC) Committee of the Water Environmental Federation (WEF) and now he has being interviewed in the podcast of WEF, Words on Water, about the next WEF odour conference that will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio and other odour issues.

    The Air Quality & Odor Control Committee is a very active team of the WEF that counts on over 100 members these days. In this podcast Vaughan discusses how odour problems develop for water utilities, methods for controlling and reducing odours, and community engagement that happens when there is a problem. He also talks about corrosion issues that can accompany odours and the role of aging infrastructure in odours.
